Procedures to Extent Timber Forest Product Utilization License Simplified

The Minister of Forestry (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. P.51/MENHUT-II/2014 on Procedures and Requirements for Extending Timber Forest Product Utilization Licenses for Natural Forests Located in Production Forests (“2014 Regulation”).

The 2014 Regulation aims to improve the bureaucratic systems at the Ministry of Forestry, by simplifying the procedures to extend Timber Forest Product Utilization Licenses for Natural Forests (Izin Usaha Pemanfaatan Hasil Hutan Kayu pada Hutan Alam – “IUPHHK-HA”).[1] In general, the application procedures under the 2014 Regulation consist of the following stages:
