Re-establishment of the REDD+ Task Force

Presidential Decree No. 25 of 2011 on the Task Force to Prepare the REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) Institution (“Decree”) has been issued to re-establish the REDD+ task force. The REDD+ task force main objective will be to continue to prepare the REDD+ institution.

The REDD+ task force was initially established under Presidential Decree No. 19 of 2010 on the Task Force to Prepare the REDD+ Institution (“Decree 19/2010”). Decree 19/2010was issued after Indonesia and Norway signed a letter of intent to prevent deforestation and forest degradation on 26 May 2010. The initial REDD+ task force was created to facilitate implementation of the REDD program. Its term ended on 30 June 2011.
