Timber Utilization Permits Reregulated

The Minister of Forestry (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. P.62/MENHUT-II/2014 on Timber Utilization Permits (“2014 Regulation”).

The 2014 Regulation redefines procedures and requirements for forestry businesses (individuals, cooperatives, state/regional owned enterprises, and private entities) to secure a timber utilization permit (Izin Pemanfaatan Kayu – “IPK”) from a regent/mayor or governor.

Prior to the 2014 Regulation, the same matter was regulated under Ministerial Regulation No. P.14/Menhut-II/2011, as amended by Ministerial Regulation No. P.20/Menhut-II/2013 (“2011 Regulation”).[1]
