Health Services Strengthened through the Implementation of Telemedicine

The Minister of Health (“Minister”) is aiming to bolster the provision of health services throughout Indonesia through the issuance of Regulation of the Minister No. 20 of 2019 on the Organization of Telemedicine Services through Health Services Facilities (“Regulation 20/2019”).

In essence, Regulation 20/2019 seeks to provide certainty regarding telemedicine services by allowing for said health services to be provided remotely through information and communication technologies which enable communication between health service facilities.[1] Matters addressed under Regulation 20/2019 include:
