Medical Practice Licenses - Implementation

The Minister of Health (MoH) has issued Regulation No. 512/MENKES/PER/IV/2007 to facilitate the implementation of Article 38(3) and Article 43 of Law No. 29 of 2004 on Medical Practice. This Regulation also repeals an earlier Regulation No. 1419/Menkes/Per/X/ 2005. The Regulation covers both doctors and dentists.

Every doctor and dentist must hold a practicing license. A practicing license will require an application to be submitted to the Head of the District / City Health Service where the doctor or dentists works. The application must include a certified copy of the applicant's registration issued by the Indonesian Doctors' Council (Konsil Kedokteran Indonesia / KKI), a statement letter indicating the place of practice, a recommendation letter from the professional organization, and 5 color photographs (4 x 6 - 3 photos and 3 x 4 - 2 photos).
