Importation of Food and Drug Ingredients

The Head of the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan – “BPOM”) has issued Regulation No. 13 of 2015 on Oversight of Food and Drug Ingredients Imports into Indonesian Territory (“2015 Regulation”).

The 2015 Regulation aims to improve and streamline the entire process of importing food and drugs ingredients (“Ingredients”) into Indonesia, by adjusting the customs clearance and cargo-release processes for products listed under Appendix II to the 2015 Regulation. These matters were previously regulated under Head of BPOM Regulation No. 28 of 2013, as amended by Head of BPOM Regulation No. 8 of 2014 (collectively referred to as “Previous Regulations”).[1]
